Great performance is built from the inside out.

I’m Jed Morris — former All-American catcher, minor league player, cancer survivor, and current Padres minor league hitting coach. I help athletes, teams, coaches and parents raise performance by strengthening what happens between the ears.

The Mission

Character first. Performance follows.

After 15+ years in professional baseball as a player and coach, I’ve seen the same pattern up and down every level: the athletes and teams who last are the ones who grow their character alongside their craft.

My work is to make that internal side visible. To take what elite competitors do quietly — and give players, coaches and parents a clear framework to build the same thing on purpose.

Respect

For the game, teammates and yourself.

Don’t Be Blind

Seek out the blind spots. Get honest.

Don’t Fear

Compete freely. Play toward, not away.

The Framework

The 5 Tool Mental Player

Everyone in baseball knows the five physical tools. This is the same clarity — applied to the mental game. Five distinct skills that can be seen, worked on, and grown.

Past

Humility

Owning what happened without carrying it.

Present

Compete

The fire that shows up pitch-to-pitch.

Present

Anchored

Steady under pressure, wherever the moment goes.

Present

Discipline

The daily standards that make compete sustainable.

Future

Preparation

Ready before the moment arrives.

Who This Is For

Built for the people who set the tone.

Athletes

Individual players who want to compete harder, recover faster, and stop losing games in their own head.

Teams

Programs looking to unify around a shared language for character, compete and discipline — not just wins.

Coaches

Coaches who feel the mental side matters but need a clearer way to teach it beyond clichés.

Parents

Parents supporting a competitor and looking for language that builds their player up instead of tearing them down.
